On June 16, 2026, Zai Lab announced that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) granted Orphan Drug Designation to zocilurtatug pelitecan for the treatment of pulmonary neuroendocrine carcinomas. The designation follows preliminary clinical data showing favorable effects in patients with relapsed or refractory small cell lung cancer. The company plans to initiate three registration-enabling studies for the candidate by the end of 2026.
